Network Security Engineer

Summary

  • Gulf Business Machines managed services contact center provides front-line call center services to key client projects. The call center is the point of escalation for client-side services related to the operation and support of many critical systems and public services.
  • As a member of this front-line staff; you will be responsible for providing specialist support for the network, border access control, and Intrusion detection systems on a case by case basis as well as the overall general administration of GBM managed networking environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support and administer the network security infrastructure within the core GBM managed services command center.
  • Provide specialist-level support to the call center on networking and security problem resolution.
  • Advice on best practices and process improvement around security systems and solutions.

Education and Certifications.

  • A network engineer degree, telecom engineer degree, or BS/BE degree in computer science, cybersecurity or related IT fields, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Network and Network Security engineer certifications such as CCIE Security (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert), CCNP Security (Cisco Certified Network Professional Security), PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer).
  • Security certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), and GIAC Security Certifications would be an advantage.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven work experience as a network security engineer or information security engineer.
  • Experience in network and network security vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper Networks, and Aruba Networks.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining network security systems.
  • Experience around 5 years + and ready to join immediately.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent understanding of network topology, firewall, routers, NIPS, application gateways, load monitoring, and documentation
  • Complete knowledge of security suite used in monitoring the system including endpoint protection.
  • Experience in network and network security vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper Networks, and Aruba Networks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in stressful scenarios.
  • Ability to communicate and report network and network security incidents and issues to the upper management.
