Job Overview:
- Role: Network Engineer
- Main Focus: Design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure
- Team: Network Implementation and Support
- Key Goals: Develop scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architectures aligned with business objectives and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities:
- Network Configuration & Installation:
Configure and install network devices, including Cisco ACI infrastructure, SD-WAN solutions, routers, switches, and wireless technologies. - Network Maintenance & Upgrades:
Perform system upgrades (e.g., service packs, patches, security configurations).
Apply hot fixes and execute security updates. - Performance Monitoring:
Ensure system reliability and availability while continuously monitoring network performance.
Conduct resource utilization tracking, capacity planning, and performance trending. - Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide Level 1/2 technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues. - Change Management:
Follow established configuration and change management policies to facilitate successful network changes and ensure awareness across teams. - Security:
Implement and maintain network security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the company’s security team. - Vendor/IT Liaison:
Work closely with vendors and other IT personnel for problem identification and resolution.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven hands-on experience in network engineering, particularly in Cisco environments.
- Certification: CCNA or higher (CCNP/CCIE is highly valued).
- Skills:
– Strong understanding of networking protocols, including IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, and 802.11 wireless standards.
– Comprehensive knowledge of the OSI and TCP/IP models. - Tools: Hands-on experience with network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytical tools.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
