ELV Engineer

Job Summary :

The ELV Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of ELV systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Audio-Visual (AV), and Structured Cabling. The role involves coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with Qatar regulations, standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. CCTV Systems

  • Design, install, configure, and commission IP & analog CCTV systems
  • Work with VMS platforms (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Axis, Hikvision, Avigilon, Dahua, etc.)
  • Camera selection, placement, and coverage calculation
  • Configure NVRs/DVRs, storage, RAID, and network integration
  • Ensure compliance with MOI where applicable.

2. Access Control Systems

  • Install and configure access control systems (card, biometric, ANPR, turnstiles)
  • Integrate access control with CCTV, BMS, fire alarm systems.
  • Manage door hardware, controllers, readers, locks, and power supplies

3. Audio-Visual (AV) Systems

  • Implement AV solutions for meeting rooms, control rooms, and auditoriums
  • Configure displays, video walls, projectors, sound systems, microphones, DSPs
  • Experience in AV control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron)
  • Perform system tuning, testing, and client demonstrations

4. Structured Cabling

  • Design and supervise structured cabling systems (CAT6/CAT6A, fiber optic)
  • Ensure proper cable routing, labeling, termination, and testing
  • Conduct Fluke testing and certification
  • Coordinate with civil and MEP teams for pathways and containment

5. Project Execution & Coordination

  • Review drawings, BOQs, and technical submittals
  • Prepare method statements, shop drawings, and as-built drawings
  • Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors
  • Attend site meetings and inspections
  • Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and schedules

6. Testing, Commissioning & Documentation

  • Perform FAT/SAT, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems
  • Prepare test reports, commissioning reports, and handover documents
  • Provide client training and O&M manuals

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunication Engineering
  • 3–7 years of ELV experience in Qatar
  • Strong hands-on experience with CCTV, Access Control, AV, and Cabling
  • Qatar Driving License (preferred)

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, switches)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently and under project pressure

  • Axis Certified Professional
  • Hikvision / Dahua Certification
  • Extron / Crestron certification
