Senior Network Engineer (Support Role)

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise networking and security technologies. The candidate will be responsible for handling support calls, troubleshooting complex issues, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring SLA compliance. This role requires strong technical knowledge across Cisco and multi-vendor environments, along with the ability to prepare professional documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level support for Cisco Routing & Switching, Security, Wireless, and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Handle support calls and tickets related to Palo Alto firewalls, Fortinet security solutions, and other networking/security platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within defined customer SLA timelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.) for escalations and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including:
    • Plans of Action (POA) for upgrades
    • Incident Reports
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Ensure proactive monitoring and continuous improvement of network performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure upgrades and changes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, or related field).
  • Certifications: Expert-level certification, preferably Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in networking and security support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Cisco Routing & Switching, Wireless, Security, and SD-WAN
    • Palo Alto firewalls and Fortinet security solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer-handling abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict SLA commitments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in preparing structured technical documentation (POA, RCA, Incident Reports).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
