The scope of platform management involves overseeing and maintaining various specialized platforms that are critical to the organization’s operations.

HARDWARE MANAGEMENT

The hardware management scope includes managing physical servers located in HQ and MV2, as well as Azure Local known as (Azure Stack HCI) and various hypervisors such as VMware, Nutanix Acropolis, and Hyper-V.

Responsibilities for Hardware Management

Under the managed services contract, the hardware management team would undertake the following responsibilities:

Physical Servers:

  • Manage and maintain physical servers in HQ and MV2.
  • Ensure server hardware is up-to-date and functioning optimally.
  • Perform regular hardware diagnostics and maintenance.
  • Implement backup and recovery solutions for physical servers.
  • Monitor server performance and address any issues promptly.

Azure Stack HCI:

  • Administer and maintain Azure Stack HCI clusters.
  • Ensure seamless integration with the Azure cloud.
  • Manage virtualized workloads and storage in a hybrid environment.
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize HCI performance.

VMware:

  • Manage and maintain VMware environments.
  • Perform regular updates and patching of VMware software.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of virtual machines.
  • Implement backup and recovery solutions for VMware environments.
  • Monitor and optimize VMware performance.

Nutanix Acropolis:

  • Administer and maintain Nutanix Acropolis environments.
  • Ensure seamless integration with other hypervisors and cloud platforms.
  • Manage virtualized workloads and storage.
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize Nutanix performance.

Hyper-V:

  • Manage and maintain Hyper-V environments.
  • Perform regular updates and patching of Hyper-V software.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of virtual machines.
  • Implement backup and recovery solutions for Hyper-V environments.
  • Monitor and optimize Hyper-V performance.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regular patching and updates for all hardware and software components.
  • Maintain high availability and ensure systems are up and running at all times.
  • Contact vendors and raise support tickets with L3 support for any issues that cannot be resolved internally.
  • Handle hardware failures and coordinate maintenance with vendors for hardware replacement.
  • Implement backup and recovery solutions to ensure data protection.
  • Monitor system performance and address any issues promptly.
  • Follow up on vendor notifications and take appropriate actions against any alerts or recommendations, including upgrades and patching.
  • Configure native cloud services for monitoring, backup, and security control to ensure optimal performance and protection.
  • Utilize cloud advisor tools to optimize costs and provide recommendations for efficient resource usage.
