Cloud Architect

Job Summary

GBM is looking for an Azure Cloud Architect. Extensive, real-world experience designing technology components for enterprise solutions and defining solution architectures and reference architectures with a focus on cloud technologies.  The successful candidate must have strong technical and leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills.

Required Experience and Skills

Contribute to the enhancing competitive edge by playing a role in the delivery of the Cloud First Strategy:

• Assessing soundness of cloud offerings and designs.
• Ensuring that appropriate cloud governance guardrails are implemented and adhered to.
• Supporting Architectural Review Board members by preparing and reviewing materials.
• Drive quality in the cloud governance reporting.
• Be the partner for Internal Teams looking to introduce new cloud capability
• Assist with regulatory requests.
• Ensure that the end-to-end impacts of the changes Cloud policy and procedures are adhered to across all Cloud projects.
• Lead the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established projects of work with stakeholders.
• Interface with Internal Audit to facilitate reviews and validation of the reviews.
• Assist project team in negotiating for resources owned by other departments in order ensure the project can be completed.
• Direct the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including Senior Management, on a timely basis.
• Working collaboratively with senior management across business and functional lines in recommending, developing, and executing on business initiatives within permissible statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts for quality and efficiency

Experience & Education Requirements

• Knowledge of cloud architecture.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field(equivalent experience will also be considered).
• At least 5 years’ demonstrated performance in a highly regulated environment. Compliance or similar function preferred.
• Strong track record of interacting and working with Senior Leaders. The role requires subject matter expertise, and the finesse to work with industry leaders and senior executives.
• Experience with technical documentation, API specifications, architectural diagrams etc.
• Experience in the design and implementation of Compliance programs and projects.
• Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques; structure potential solutions; drive to resolution with senior stakeholders.
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture applications and cloud-based services.
• Ability to handle conflicting priorities while delivering on multiple concurrent activities with short-term deadlines and changing priorities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver high-quality materials, results-oriented.
• Working knowledge of cloud governance concepts and implementations
• Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and ‘no surprises’ approach in communicating issues, and strength in sustaining independent views.
• The candidate must be available immediately to join GBM.

Required Certification:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Cloud Architect.
