DB2 for Z/OS Systems Programmer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade current versions of DB2 for Z/OS
• Install and upgrade commonly used DB2 Tools from IBM & 3rd party vendors.
• Troubleshoot DB2 issues working with Application Development and DBA staff.
• Monitor DB2 product performance.
• Build & configure DB2 subsystem environments on z/OS (incl. DB2 Data sharing)
• Work with IBM to complete pre-installation requirements for new versions of DB2, help install and test upgrades of vendor software, create, maintain and document databases and processes, participate in planned disaster recovery exercises.
• Setup and lead replication between DB2 for Z/OS and from DB2 Z/OS using QREP and IBM CDC
• Monitor replication performance
• Application schema changes
• Handling DB2 application performance
• Backup and recovery solutions
• Native stored procedures support

Education & Other Requirements

• Bachelor or higher in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the same platform
• Good hands on experience in DB2 for z/OS v8.1, v9.1, v10.1, v11.1, DB2 v12
• IBM Certified DB2 Associate ( Preferred)
