X86 Infrastructure Admin

Summary

• As an X86 Infrastructure Admin, you will be responsible for providing specialist support for X86 server infrastructure running VMware vSphere on a case by case basis as well as the overall general administration of GBM managed infrastructure at client sites

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day to day operations and support for X86 based environments
• Installation/troubleshooting of x86 based Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• Hardware installation and configuration where needed
• Responsible for all day-to-day management of the VMs including installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, patching, backup, and recovery.
• Assist in the planning, execution of project activities
• Experience managing VMware virtualization technologies an advantage
• Knowledge or experience with administering Linux servers (RHEL) an advantage
• Knowledge of Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS), DHCP / DNS / WINS /IIS/ ISA / SQL /FTP
• Hardware installation concept of RAID
• Should have some working knowledge of Hyper V hosts and VMs
• Scripting knowledge on PowerShell / VBS will be an added advantage
• Awareness of cloud technologies like Azure / GCP / AWS
• Experience with large-scale enterprise projects.
• Knowledge of methodologies for developing, building and configuring a system.
• Understand the storage configuration, LUN creation procedures and policies

Certifications

• Knowledge of the ITIL process and certification in ITIL foundations is a must.

Qualifications & Experience

•  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
• Windows server administration experience 5-9 Years (especially Win 2k12/16 and Win 2k19).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience VMware 5.X & 6.x Virtualization Technology
•  The candidate must be available locally in Qatar OR  outside Qatar & ready to fly  immediately
