MoTC signs six contracts to develop ICT sector

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) signed a total of six new contracts with local and international specialised companies to implement a package of development projects in the ICT sector in the country serving the national digital transformation drive. The contracts were inked yesterday on the sidelines of QITCOM 2019.

The signing of the new contracts comes as part of the ministry’s keenness to develop the telecommunications, information technology and security sectors, and to enhance the efficiency of technological and information infrastructure, and implement government plans and programs.
The ministry has signed one contract with Gulf Business Machines (GBM) for the preparation of the national laboratory for testing ICT system,  the ministry also signed two other contracts with Malomatia company, related to Qatar Government Contact Center and Department of E-Government Tenders.

The contracts included four agreements with Mannai Trading Company WLL  related to the Oracle Agreement for Unlimited Licenses “2019-2022” and the government portal. They also included another contract with Soft Path Technologies to improve the quality of digital services provided via the e-Government portal.

On this occasion, Mai Ahmed Al Buainain, Director of Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, said: “There is no doubt that the signing of the new contracts at QITCOM 2019 reflects the ministry’s keenness to apply the principle of justice and transparency in the bidding process that is being held. In addition to being a clear demonstration of the ministry’s confidence and belief in the role of SMEs and their ability to make tangible progress, it will contribute to supporting the process of digital transformation in the country.”
